"Case of the Mondays" - Finding Footage Fast

Mondays always present “special” challenges, but last Monday, February 24th was quite the special challenge.

• 3:11 PM – Our CEO Matthew Nederlanden got an email that a “car ran into the building” sometime during the day
• 3:15 PM – Requests to find the footage came in after confirming the damage
• 3:17 PM – We had found the exact moment, exported the video, and uploaded it to Slack

Less than 2 minutes.

It took less than 2 minutes to find and export that footage, despite not knowing the exact time the damage occurred.

How was it done?

AI-powered Motor Vehicle Search

Using SCW’s Viewstation software and cameras with AI-driven person and vehicle detection, we ran a search for all vehicles that had entered that day. Within seconds, we could visually spot when the pole outside was still intact — and then, when it wasn’t.

Despite it being a busy entrance, the thumbnail timeline made it effortless to pinpoint when the damage occurred: 1:14 PM.

We clicked the video, confirmed the incident, exported the footage, and shared it — all within 2 minutes. With standard playback methods, this could have taken hours of scrubbing and fast-forwarding.
